Challenging Behaviour

Understanding the working of challenging behaviour

A Lecture by Donna Williams Challenging behaviours can be anything from developmental delays that an environment struggles with to attention deficits, self stimulatory behaviours, fussiness, aggression, mutism, hygiene, toileting, smearing, eating disorders, self injurious behaviours, obsessive interests, addictions to ones own chemistry extremes, or misunderstood symptoms of co-occurring mood, anxiety or compulsive disorders. When are challenging behaviours natural reactions to personality trait clashes to ill-fitting approaches or environments? When are challenging behaviours natural reactions to toxicity, brain starvation associated with gut and immune disorders or part of chemistry imbalances in unaddressed co-occurring mood, anxiety or compulsive disorders? When are challenging behaviours expressions of boundary, identity and entanglement issues with those in their environment and how did it get to this

How can we tell the difference and what do we do then?
