Pinetrees was established in 1995, and is also situated in Selly Park. It provides a small home environment for four adults with Asperger Syndrome. Pinetrees was developed in partnership with the Family Housing Association (Birmingham) in order to provide greater independence for people at the more able end of the autistic spectrum.
The ethos of Pinetrees is to promote independent living skills within a supportive environment, encouraging individuals to develop their interests and abilities and participate in the wider community.
The property is located in a quiet residential area, within walking distance of local amenities including Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham City Centre and the local countryside south of the city.
The house has comfortable living accommodation and there is a large, mature garden at the rear of the house. Pinetrees has a large dining kitchen where staff and the people living at Pinetrees prepare meals and snacks. There are two lounges for relaxation, watching TV and using the computer. Each person has their own bedroom with a wash hand basin which is decorated in the style and colour of their choice. Other facilities at Pinetrees are a bathroom and toilet on the first floor and a shower room with toilet on the ground floor.
