Our Information Team Become Orange Button Holders

We are proud to share that our Information Line team has recently completed the Orange Button Training delivered by Every Life Matters. Following the training, the entire team are now recognised as Orange Button holders.

The Orange Button scheme was created to make it easier for people to have conversations about suicide and to know where to turn for support. By wearing or displaying the Orange Button, individuals show they have undergone specialist training to:

  • Listen without judgement
  • Talk openly about suicide
  • Provide information and guidance
  • Signpost to appropriate help and services

For Autism West Midlands, this achievement is an important step in ensuring our Information Line is not only a trusted source of advice about autism, but also a safe and supportive place for anyone who might be struggling.

Our Information Line is often the first point of contact for autistic people and their families, and we know that at times those conversations can be very difficult. Having the skills and confidence to talk about suicide directly, with compassion and care is vital. We are incredibly proud of our Information Line team for their commitment, openness and dedication in completing this training!
