New Supported Living Scheme – The Burrows (Droitwich)

19th September 2018

Autism West Midlands are currently working with Fortis Living and Worcestershire County Council to develop an exciting new supported living scheme for people with Autism and complex needs in the Droitwich area. The scheme is funded by Fortis Living and Worcestershire County Council and will consist of eight individual flats. Autism West Midlands will be the support provider, providing specialist support to people on the autistic spectrum and living with complex needs.

The Burrows

Autism West Midlands support staff have been working closely with people we support who  are enthusiastic about the new development and have been encouraged to capture the progress of the build using a variety of tools such as photographs, blogs, drawings and interviews.  They also researched the local area in order to come up with potential names for the new development.

A total of eleven potential names were put forward to Worcestershire County Council and Fortis Living from Upper Ford Lodge, and three were shortlisted. A poll was then held for those supported by Autism West Midlands and The Burrows came out as a firm favourite.

Please note: The Burrows scheme is not open for referrals. All referrals are directed by Worcestershire County Council.
