Coronavirus Appeal

As a charity we have had to react quickly so we can be here at a time that is challenging for everyone. Our Autism West Midlands Helpline remains available for anyone who is West Midlands based, with extended opening hours at this time. We have adapted our services to offer support by phone, email and video call, and we have set up support groups using Facebook and Zoom. We are also providing free webinars on a range of topics that are run weekly for West Midlands based parents, carers and professionals as well as providing free downloadable information through our website.

Unfortunately, the coronavirus has had a significant impact on fundraising income at a time when we need it the most. The loss of World Autism Awareness Week at the start of April has meant that our donations towards family support services have almost disappeared.  The national PPE shortage has meant that we have had to go to extraordinary lengths to secure and buy PPE, often at inflated prices. Costs have risen considerably for items such as masks, gloves and aprons costing the charity thousands of pounds This is why we need your help!

You can help Autism West Midlands in the following ways…

PPE Donations

Due to a national shortage and like many organisations we are in need of PPE equipment to keep our residential support workers safe. If you are a supplier or business who has spare equipment such as disposable aprons, gloves, full face shields/polycarbonate safety spectacles, fluid resistant surgical masks or hand sanitizers we would be very grateful if you can help. Please contact 0121 450 7582 or email info@autismwestmidlands.org.uk
