Courses and workshops for parents

Courses and Workshops

Courses and workshops for parents are held at various venues across the West Midlands and include introductory awareness sessions, programmes with multiple sessions and workshops on specific topics.

They are an opportunity for parents to learn more about autism and how it affects their child, take home ideas and strategies to try at home and meet other parents and share experiences.

Courses held in our Head Office in Edgbaston can be attended by families who live anywhere in the West Midlands.

However some of our courses are accessible only by families in particular areas: courses in Shropshire and Sandwell are only open to families who live in those areas and for some Solihull courses families need to be referred through SOLAR (Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Service for those aged 0-19 years, in Solihull).

Training courses are advertised on our events page and bookings taken on-line. Many are free of charge or a small fee is charged.

Autism West Midlands works in partnership with local authorities, local NHS, voluntary organisations and charitable trusts and is grateful for the support of The Edward Gostling Foundation (Formally the ACT Foundation), Action For Children, SOLAR (Solihull), Sandwell Council, Shropshire Council.

It is like a lightbulb has gone on in my head and I get it. I feel so much better that certain things are normal and happen to others. Thank you. You have changed my life and I am forever grateful.
